Oh the French make things so nice! N’est-ce pas?
Sajou began in the 19th century but was re-established in 2005 under the reign of Frédérique Crestin-Billet. Made in France Haberdashery is the name of the game for Sajou. They keep in mind their historical roots with attention to quality and traditional patterns and packaging that pays homage to the Sajou-past.
Sajou is famous for it’s threads, including the glossy 100% cotton embroidery floss pictured above. Retors de Nord comes in generous 20m amounts wrapped on cards that are easy to store and resists tangles. The threads have a sheen and glide with ease through fabric. It is slightly finer then other floss and can be divided into 4 separate strands.
Also pictured are other haberdashery gems like this wheel of glass headed pins (the package shows a dog and a cat sorting out some threads together -adorable!), a packet of embroidery needles and these amazing triangle head pins packed in a tightrope walker decorated box.
We have 48 colours of Retors de Nord embroidery floss here.
We have 24 colours of Laine Saint-Pierre embroidery/darning wool. This stuff is perfect for all your invisible and visible mending needs, or try it on your next embroidery project. This soft wool blend comes in lovely matte colours and like the Retors de Nord is packed on tangle-free cards. Strands can be separated for finer work.
Try out both the Laine Saint-Pierre and the Retors de Nord with these fine gauge punch needles! This Ultra Punch Needle Tool comes with three different needle sizes that can be used interchangeably in the tool. You can also adjust the height of your loops with this one tool. We are trying out our new punch needle with different fabrics and bits and bobs of fingering weight yarn to see which ones work best. Fun!
