So..we miss you…but we want you to stay safe…so we are easing into opening up the shop. Please continue to shop in the webshop and stay in touch with email and telephone but if you are hankering for an in person yarn visit then we are kinda, sorta, open-ish!
The shop is set up for social distancing, which means that we can help one customer at a time who will have their own space at the front of shop. It’s like an old timey mercantile situation where the shopkeeper shows you and brings you things. You will point and we will go fetch, you will tell us what you are after and we will show you what we have. Hand sanitizer is here, the store in clean, our staff has masks – please wear one too if you have one.
You can pick up your web orders or shop in person:
Tuesday-Friday noon-6pm and Saturday noon-5pm.
As we wrestle with the disturbing events of racialized violence and discrimination over the last few weeks we are hopeful that this is a time of new beginnings. We at The Knit Cafe are currently developing initiatives to better support an agenda of equality and will work to become better advocates both as a small business and personally. For starters we have made a donation to Bipoc in Fiber which helps to promote the work of Black, Indigenous & People of Colour in the fibre community. More actions will follow. We do not want these recent events to be a moment in time soon forgotten, we are hoping for meaningful change.
Take care everyone!
