The shop is bursting with Julie Asselin and Lichen and Lace Yarn

Bursting at the seams with beautiful yarn! There are worse problems.
This week we received two exciting shipments of hand dyed yarn. Yesterday was Julie Asselin Day! Our box full of goodies from Quebec included both the Piccolo Sock yarn that we know and love and also something new for The Knit Café. It’s Leizu DK. Like the name suggests it is a Double Knit weight yarn, but what the name doesn’t tell you is that it is a super shimmering blend of Superwash Merino and Silk.
Today, shipped from Sackville New Brunswick, we received some Lichen and Lace. It is gorgeous! More 80/20, which is Lichen and Lace’s sock weight yarn and some Worsted Weight too. Just in time to knit up hats and mits and scarves for gifts.

Check it out.

Julie Asselin Piccolo

We have some really lovely skeins of Julie Asselin’s Piccolo in the house!
It is our first shipment of this sock weight yarn and we really love how soft and silky it feels. It is comprised of 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon so it would make wonderful, strong socks. It would also make gorgeous shawls and spring weight sweaters and shrugs. Of course it comes in Julie Asselin’s happy colourways.  Come and get em before they get away!

I will take some close-up glamor shots for you soon, but better yet come and see them for yourself.
